The print house, the cable company and the fencing board

Three records sit side by side on Ali Adnan Haider Darwish: the printing business, the DataOm secretarial seat since 2023, and the ITHCA Group role since February 2025.

Read three at once and the shape is unusual. Ali Adnan Haider Darwish runs the Muscat print house BHD Printing and Designing, is secretary to the board of DataOm — the ITHCA Group submarine-cable company — and has been Head of Strategic Planning at ITHCA Group itself since February 2025.

The two ITHCA records are the ones to be careful with. DataOm and ITHCA are not the same employer, and the secretary's seat is a board role, not staff. One is a governance appointment dated October 2023; the other is an executive post dated February 2025. Filing them together would be wrong, so they are separate here.

Before ITHCA, he spent nineteen months at the Oman Vision 2040 Office as Head of Business Environment, from November 2021 to June 2023, where the record attaches the Invest in Oman centre and work on the National Investment Strategy. Earlier employers were Oman Broadband, Oman Aviation Group, EY and the Central Bank of Oman, and the whole of the pre-2021 path is a public-sector and consultancy route, not a family-business one.

BHD Printing and Designing is the part that is not public sector, and the part that is oldest. It is the business he is associated with in the FBCG award record, where he appears as its founder.

How many hats is too many is a judgement. What can be dated and checked is where each one starts: DataOm October 2023, Vision 2040 November 2021 and ending June 2023, ITHCA February 2025. The file does not need a reading to be useful; it needs the dates kept apart.

Where each record can be checked

  1. arabian.ceo/people/ali-adnan-haider-darwish — the full register entry, four sources, verified 1 October 2026.
  2. fbcgawards.com — 2025 Next Generation, an award body's own record.
Note on the source. The register page and this file are the same group's — arabian.ceo is BHD-owned — so this piece files dates rather than acting as independent coverage. The FBCG award is the one third-party record here, and it is an award list, not a written report.
